snow in florida?

Well, you might not have seen any snow, but we sure saw some in our Imagine That class last week! As you can see, the class came prepared in their snow boots. We had lots of fun playing in the snow, making snow angels (see below), throwing snow balls, and even participating in an impromptu parade!

Saturday class

Today was the last day of our Saturday Family Time class. I have to say, I'm pretty sad that it's over! We had an amazing group of kids and adults in this class! It was so wonderful to see everyone laughing, singing, and playing - it was truly a family atmosphere. There's nothing better than seeing a family making music together!

I will be doing another every-other-week Saturday Family Time class beginning in February. We'll meet 5 times, every other Saturday for 10 weeks. Stay tuned for more information!

back to class

Well, everyone, I am home from Convention. What an amazing time it was! I can't believe how much I learned...my head is still spinning. Expect some fun and exciting changes and activities in class over the next several months as I work on applying this newfound knowledge!

Even though I had a fabulous time in Raleigh, I missed you. I look forward to seeing you in class this week! I'll leave you with a picture of my aunt Stella and I (she teaches Kindermusik in Kentucky).

the time has come!!!!

Folks, we will be meeting in the new classroom THIS WEEK! I am just beyond excited! I know it will take me awhile to get things perfect, but everything is looking pretty great right now. I will be making minor additions as we go along, but we have a nice open space with no tables, bookshelves, or corners to run into!

I will see you this week in the new room. Just continue on past the room we have been meeting in, turn left at the gate, and the new room is a few doors down on the left. You can't miss it. See you soon! :D

homemade instruments

A few weeks ago, my Young Child class had an assignment. They were to make their own instruments and bring them to class! We played them in our own symphony! You can see here what they came up with:
